As a native Portlander and daily cyclist, it’s nice to see an outsider’s view on what biking is like here. You mention that Portland doesn’t have a bike share program, which is true. A recent article in The Oregonian reported that the Bureau of Transportation and BTA are planning to establish a new bike sharing system in the city. The plan still needs to be approved by the city council, but has good support so far! Your post was a good reminder not to take what we have here for granted. Thanks again!
